The Return and the Discovery

Shen Moke concludes a half-year overseas exchange program and returns home, expecting to reunite with her boyfriend of three years, Xie Huaizhi. However, she discovers a deep betrayal: Xie Huaizhi has crossed boundaries with her best friend, Jiang Shuyue. Furthermore, Xie Huaizhi has secretly transferred a study opportunity Shen Moke had spent a year preparing for, giving it instead to Jiang Shuyue.

Shen Moke decides to revive a childhood engagement (娃娃亲) arranged by her family years ago. This leads her back to Lu Qinghe, a figure from her past who has been silently admiring her for many years. Unlike her previous relationship, Lu Qinghe remains consistently gentle, tolerant, and steadfast in his support of her.

Regret and Finality

Xie Huaizhi eventually realizes the magnitude of his loss and the depth of his regret. He attempts to win Shen Moke back, but his efforts come too late. By this point, Shen Moke has found peace and a new path with Lu Qinghe, rendering his挽回 (redemption) unsuccessful.
